Yes, we have been here over 20 years and we will be another 40 at least. We know all the routes in Saimaa and beyond Saimaa too. You will get us the information, which is not in any official maps. All this information is shared with you in the canoe base.
Vesa has been here from the childhood. He spends here most of his summers and you can also meet him on the waters of Saimaa, mostly fishing. Vesa will know almost every rock around here, so don't hesitate to ask the best place to catch fish, most remote campsite or where to spot seals.

You can arrive canoe base at anytime you want. In the reservation there is the time, when guide will be come at base, sometimes the guide can be at base already. Just come in!
There is space for the tent at canoe base and also very very basic dorm. You can spend night, when arriving and when leaving. There is video survailance at base.
There is local bus connection from Mikkeli to Anttola.

You can also take taxi from Mikkeli, taxi cost is about 70€ (depending on the day, time, amount of persons). Taxis you can get easily from the bus/train station.

There is small shop in Anttolla center, Sale Anttola. You cannot miss it. Here you can find all the basic food you will ever need. No fancy dried camping food in here.

From matkakeskus there is 20 min walk to bigger shops in Mikkeli. There is Prisma and Citymarket two big supermarkets next to each other. Adress for the shops is : Graanintie 1, Mikkeli
From Mikkeli there is about 30 km to Anttola. You can reach Mikkeli from Helsinki easily by bus or train. We highly recommend bus company www.onnibus.com. They are cheap and start from the center of Helsinki. Trains leave at central station in Helsinki and you can book ticket from www.vr.fi
You can take local train to reach Helsinki central station or tikkurila and take train from there to Mikkeli. Also there is local buses from airport to Kamppi, where the all the buses leave to Mikkeli.
You can easily rent car from airport, or you might have a private car. It takes about 3 hours from Helsinki to reach canoe base. There is free and safe parking next to canoe base.
